An Inconvenient Truth

I just saw the Al Gore movie "An Inconvenient Truth". I would recommend it to everybody, especially those who doubt that global warming is real. After watching it, there is no way you can argue that it doesn't exist, no way you can argue that it is "controversial", no way you can argue that some scientists are in doubt. Gore doesn't make these arguments himself, they are backed up by (watch out!) facts.

Seriously, go see it. Then do something about it.

"No way you can argue that some scientists are in doubt"?

Really?

Some really accomplished people (who aren't politicians) would disagree with you.

It's not smart to rely on politically-inspired infotainment as the primary source for your worldview. Politicians tend to tell you what they want to in order to benefit themselves. Learn to be a little skeptical of these people.

I haven't seen it yet, but I've heard good things about it.

I'm not sure it will convince any of the hardcore "Global-Warming-Doesn't-
Exist-Crowd."

Until I see it though, I will refrain from my Aqua Net usage.

Really. From the WaPo article:

He has testified about this to the United States Senate. He has written magazine articles, given speeches, done everything he could to get the message out. His scientific position relies heavily on what is known as the Argument From Authority. He's the authority.

"I've been in meteorology over 50 years. I've worked damn hard, and I've been around. My feeling is some of us older guys who've been around have not been asked about this. It's sort of a baby boomer, yuppie thing."

Respect my authority!

There's a difference between "published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal" and "published in the Washington Post".

Guess which one the real scientists are published in?

What are you doing about it? Please quantify, if possible.
