Why does the state still charge a "convenience fee" for getting your license tabs online? Surely it costs the state less to process an online transaction than it does to process my mailed-in check?
This year I had to get new plates, not just the tabs. What amazed me was that the State actually mailed the plates to me. In an envelope that literally had the words "here are your new license plates" on it.
There is no activation method once you receive the plates. So, anyone between the DMV and my mail slot could have easily stolen these and been off having a good ole criminal time with plates the state thinks belong to me.
