Salon has a profile of Red Lake today. It's a pretty good read, but depressing. How we can allow closed areas full of so much poverty and so little hope is beyond me.

They could have hope, or at least money...if their friends in a few select tribes let them partner with the state and build a casino. This is not to say money would solve all their problems, but witness the casino tribes and what they've been able to do for themselves.
But we can't be expanding gambling now, can we?
