Godwin's law

Colleen Rowley sure has some brilliant volunteers. How stupid do you have to be to put a picture like that up?

It's pretty hard for Democrats to run on removing Republican corruption from Washington and improving the political tone when they do incredibly stupid things like this. John Kline has plenty of real negatives to harp on; there is absolutely no need for dumb personal attacks like this.

A smart volunteer wouldn't have put it on the blog. They would have had surrogates spread rumors that Kline shot himself in the Marines, sold secrets from the nuclear football, and is the father of an illegitimate black child.

Haven't the Democrats learned anything from the Republicans about how to win?

Kline has won the first round of this issue, which is really disappointing. Clearly, the comparison was not Kline = Nazi, but Kline = Col. Klink, the ineffectual, boobish television character. Rowley should stand by the intent of the photograph and proudly state, "No, Kline is not a Nazi, he is an ineffectual member of Congress. He can be offended by whatever he wants, but Minnesotans should be offended by Kline's performance in Congress."

No 'stupid' is running the deficit up to a record 2.19 billion a day while slashing programs to working families and giving incentive to oil companies with record earnings. Now that's inkompetance...spelled with a 'K' like Kline or Klink!

Typical tactics of thew cowardly Democrats. Do they have a core platform? You becha! It's called the Lie And Smear Campaign. Create any unverifiable lie and smear they're opponents. Sad to see so many sheeple fall for this type of propaganda.

Really now Komrads, what programs do we working families need? We don't need or want programs. Except for those who are simply lazy and want to remain dependant feeding from government's teat.

Need I mention that the Dems have a Senator with the KKK? Reformed, yeah, right.

This was a colossally stupid mistake on the part of Rowley's campaign. Nobody will care about the finer points of whether Kline was being depicted as Klink and not as a Nazi. If the campaign wished to highlight Kline's record, they should have done exactly that. Surely Coleen has the ability to make passionate, well-reasoned arguments about policy. Nobody will care about Kline's record after this. Stupid.

Incidently, this highlights another problem with my fellow Democrats: instead of focussing on how to move the country forward, they focus their energies on the cheap shots. The electorate is not impressed. Nobody cares about how superior Democrats think they are.

Boy, I wish us cowardly Democrats could be as brave and high-minded as those who anonymously spit bile on someone else's blog. Do you think George W. Bush has reformed since he spoke at Bob Jones University? Why can't liberals engage in positive campaign acts, like Kennedy v. Machine, which has been repeatedly posting Amy Klobuchar's phone number on their site? Now that's classy.
