Again, you're leaving out the "illegal" part of the equation. These people jumped the line, and should not be rewarded with amnesty. Remember, illegal aliens with fake driver's licenses took out the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Love the Mexican flags and the Spanish slogans - these people don't want to assimilate, they want to have Mexico in the U.S.
They don't want to assimilate? Give me a break. By the 3rd generation, Hispanic immigrants speak English as their first language 100% of the time. 100%. Which is exactly the same time frame as all the German immigrants, Irish immigrants, Swedish immigrants, Norwegian immigrants, and all the other immigrants that have come to this country. By the third generation, they are assimilated.
It's hard to see how arguments that Hispanics don't want to assimilate is anything other than racism. The immigrants today are no different, no different, than the immigrants 100 years ago.
