In passing

Both Gene McCarthy and Richard Pryor have died. There's a connection there, but it's not something that can be put into words.

The father of the Vietnam Ghost has died and lost of his ghost followers will soon pass and that's a good thing. The defeatist attitude of that generation had been eliminated by 911 and proven to be a really misinformed political position in the real world of "today".........................

I guess one way to put it is that both of them successfully challenged the status quo. But it goes far beyond that. From the sound of your comment, though, you probably don't have the capability to discuss these things on a multi-dimensional level.
