Outrage II

I'd be hard-pressed to find bigger pricks than these people (the protesters, not the people fighting them).

I know that many states are considering laws to ban protests and funerals, which is not something I can agree with. The proper response to these people is not legislation, it is what the Patriot Guards are doing. Even though I don't have a motorcycle anymore and I'm against the war in Iraq, I would be honored to stand with everybody else and fight against the bigots with my presence.

During the "Dark Ages" we heard of moldy bread and spores that affected reason...maybe there's some kind of chemical to explain this aboration... how else can we explain our own species.I wants to believe that human beings can't be that truly unfeeling (evil? unkind? insensitive? lacking any compassion?).

I always thought the worse pain you could endure is to outlive your own child, but it can get even worse...Marvin Gaye had it right "What's going on".

These folks were in town last year to protest Sweden. Yeah, Sweden... like, the country. Something about an anti-gay minister who was treated (they said) unfairly by the Swedish government.

Anyway, to protest Sweden (in general) they came to Minneapolis (in particular)... and picketed IKEA.

Seriously.

Also the Swedish Institute.

Then they swung by the church across the street from my parent's house, on a tour of local Lutheran churches (little did they know that just down the street a Baptist church ordained a gay minister!).

They had signs that said "God hates fags." My parents jointed the counterprotest with two signs:

- God loves everyone, even bigots.

and, on a sandwich board that their dog carried,

- Dog loves fags.

I don't believe that Governor Pawenty is at all upset about what was being said about the Gays by this group. He and the other Republican legislators that are so 'outraged' are only upset for the family in mourning as well we all should be, however they truely believe what these idiots are saying and the proof is that they will continue to push for their Anti-Gay agenda. We will pay the price for Republicans to get re-elected. Fear and hate towards us is their only campaign issue as they have nothing else positive to say about their track record locally or nationally.
