Smoking bans III

There's no need to rehash things I have said here, but all the latest indications are that a bill will be passed by the legislature this year with bipartisan support. This is great news, but let's not forget that this issue was spearheaded last year by Rep. Ron Latz, a Democrat from St. Louis Park, who pushed for it unsuccessfully but was instrumental is demonstrating the popularity of such a ban. Persistence pays off at the legislature.

Ah, now we disagree again!

A. These second hand smoking health concerns are largely junk science. Even the UN W.H.O. says so.

B. The force of government is simply not needed in any case for bars and restaurants. If you don't like it, don't go there. There are many smoke free establishments already.

C. What this really is all about is covering the losses of the communities who have already adopted such ordinances, losing business to their more enlightened neighbors.
